Competition Structure
The condition and/or theme (ie: “Secret Ingredient”) that you are to use for your AMV will be revealed on the Saturday unveiling session. You are free to use any video editing program but you must specify the most likely codec that you will be rendering in to ensure compatibility on the day (see the entry details below).
Saturday:
- The Chairman unveils the material to be used.
- Contestants receive the material and have until the competition the next day to produce their entry.
Sunday:
- Contestants are taken through a small instruction session an hour before the contest.
- The AMVs of each contestant will be screened to the audience and a panel of judges.
Note: We want to point out again that you can use any video editing program and any computer that you can get your hands on. This means you can bring your laptop computer and start editing at Manifest itself, or you can go home or wait till after Manifest on Saturday to edit in your home computer, or however else you want. If you purchase a Mani-Madness pass, you could even stay overnight to edit. It's completely up to you, but note however that Manifest will not provide you with a location, computer and/or software to edit with. You must also continue to abide by all the terms and conditions of attendance as outlined in your registration while on site.
Rules:
- You must be both pre-registered for and at Manifest for both the times on Saturday and Sunday that the Iron Chef AMV competition is running.
- All video media must be submitted to the Information Desk or to the AMV Coordinator at least one hour before the Iron Chef AMV Competition Judging Event on Sunday. AMVs submitted later than this will be disqualified. You will be given a proper run through of the event as well as last minute clarifications at this time, so be sure to turn up.
- Only one video per person.
- You must comply with the conditions and/or theme that will be revealed during the Saturday unveiling session in order to gain the necessary scores to win the competition.
- AMV entries must be no longer than 6 minutes.
- AMVs must not have an intro, credits, bump in or bump outs, or any other additions that do not immediately relate to the content of your video.
