For those who are wondering where solstone is, please check this map. Solstone is held at Trades hall, to get there by public transport simply get off at the swanston street exit of Melbourne Central and head up the hill (lonsdale street). Then go left at russell street (the next street up), and trades hall is on the right hand side (courner of lygon and victoria streets).

Due to many of our core attendees complaining that the cost of Solstone pretty much guarantees that they're not going to be able to come and afford to have a good time, we have decided to drop the price of tickets.
Attendance to Solstone will now be $50 pre-registered, and $60 at the door.
If you have already purchasd a ticket and are about to burn with indignant rage... don't. Whilst we won't be refunding the difference because that's going to tkae up time and effort we currently don't have, we will be ensuring you get that money back in the form of a $15 drink card that can be used on the night. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Tickets can be purchased here

The first clue:
The city runs by this time, but the locomotives never do
Rules:
- All clues are within the limits of the Melbourne Central Business district
- In all locales, you will find people that are dressed in ways that you would expect them to if you were to attend Solstone. Look for these people and ask them "I am a Seeker. Are you the clue master?"
- You may work as a team
- No tweeting, Facebooking, SMSing, MMSing, or in any way sharing the locations to other people that are not part of your team
- The hunt starts at 10am
- The hunt finishes at 4pm, or when the tickets finally run out, which ever is first.

We're ramping up promotions for Solstone this week and have decided to be uber generous as part of the Christmas spirit (which is brandy, by the way).
Treasure Hunt:
December 12th (12/12/09), the day before the AGM, we thought we'd have a bit of fun and have a treasure hunt.
There are going to be five (5) tickets given away for this.
We're going to start you off with a riddle (and a few rules) on the Solstone site which will lead you into the CBD around 10-11am.
From there, there will be another four clues which will lead you to the final location.
The first five people to reach this final location will be given a golden ticket.
The next five people after that will be given kudos, a sympathetic look, and maybe some candy if I decide to be nice.
Reciprocation:
We all know that Twitter and Facebook are basically how people communicate nowadays.
If you want a free ticket to Solstone, you merely have to mention what you're looking forward to (or missing out on) at #solstone, and direct people to it via bit.ly/Solstone.
Thanks to the tracking scripts that are part of the core functionality of both Facebook and Twitter, we are able to see exactly who has sent how many people and when they were sent via the above Bit.Ly link.
The two (2) people that refer the most unique traffic (because we can measure that too) will be given a ticket
N.B.: The cut off date for status update entries is 15/12/09
Market Research:
In the next email newsletter to go out, we're going to have a link to a market research questionnaire that we would like people to respond to.
Respondents will have their Mani-Membership numbers recorded, and three (3) of those people will be given a free ticket.
If you still desperately want a ticket, but can't afford it, there are a few going out to Anime News Network and AVCon this week, and they'll probably be running some sort of comps as well (or just keeping them for themselves and rock up to gloat about how they came without Peppa-Chan... the jerks!)
