Manifest 2008 - About Us - MOC

A handful of dedicated and hardworking volunteers bring this massive event to you. The Manifest Organising Committee (MOC) give up their time for nothing but the love of the convention. They work tirelessly (and, as the event sneaks up, without sleep) to bring the anime fans in Victoria, Australia, and sometimes from around the world, the Melbourne Anime Festival. It is a job that requires attendance at fortnightly meetings throughout the year, and a commitment to working in your spare time.

Jobs range from co-ordinating competitions, liasing with traders, fan groups and sponsors, creating advertising materials and distributing them, striking agreements with distributors of food and drinks, organising printing of publicity materials, managing events like Cosplay and Anime Idol, running the website, putting together our program book, keeping track of copyright issues, managing our army of hardworking volunteers, cracking the whip over other committee member's head (or their bums if they're really falling behind) to the executive roles of secretary, treasurer, whip, venue & schedule and Convenor.

This list may seem long but they are just some of the main Jobs that the committee needs to do. There are innumerable more little ones in between that the committee also shares around (for example, somebody had to write this blurb pimping explaining the committee.)

We need you to consider joining us. Without more committee members, Manifest cannot reasonably grow into a better event then it is now. Attending Manifest is fun, but if you really want to be involved then you can start by joining the committee.

As above meetings are every fortnight, these will be announced on the website. You are welcome to show up to any of the committee meetings to join. To join it will cost $10 that is later discounted and you get to see all the behind the scenes of Manifest.
