Manifest 2007 Postcard Competition
PLEASE NOTE: This competition is open Internationally.
1. Theme:
For the time being, there is no theme. Hence - let your creativity run
free!
2. Size:
It should at least 105 mm x 148 mm (A6). The original illustration may
be twice or three times the prescribed size, but please constrain the
entry to the specified ratio.
3. Resolution:
At least 300 dpi, however higher resolutions are recommended.
4. Colour:
CMYK preferred, however RGB is acceptable. The choice of full colour,
greyscale or black & white is left to your discretion.
5. Content Warning:
a. MANIFEST advises caution towards depiction of extreme violence and
nudity. We encourage artists to consider the wide audience that MANIFEST
caters for.
b. Montages may be used to support your illustration, however any
montage should cover no more than 2/3 of your illustration.
c. Give credit where credit is due. Any content used in your
illustration that does not belong to you must be acknowledged (See
Submission)
6. Submission:
a. Your submitted work must be:
Received by midnight, 15th January 2007 (Australian Eastern Seaboard
Time). 105 mm x 148 mm (A6) at your chosen resolution, or no more than
3MB. This is for submission purposes only - we will request for the
original when you've won the competition. Should you feel that the true
beauty of the illustration couldn't be expressed due to the size
constraint, you may supply a URL to your work. However, you must still
submit your illustration as a file.
b. Attach a text file (or a printout) containing:
i.Your name and nickname/alias
ii.Your contact details
iii. URL to your work (if applicable - see point 6a)
v. Any acknowledgments & grants of permission to use others' work that
has been used in your illustration
c. Submit your work via:

The Prize:
Having your postcard artwork with your name on it distributed around
Australia, to promote Manifest 2007. Also you’ll be thanked in our
programme book and at the closing ceremony.
And now the real prize:
You can choose a combination of two prizes, from the following list;
- One original music CD (note: the ordering process may take time).
- Two weekend passes to Manifest 2007.
- One year's subscription to DeviantArt.
- One 12 Colour Copic Marker Set (containing; Chrome Orange YR04, Black
100, Light Blue B14, Ultramarine B29, Prussian Blue B39, Burnt Sienna
E09, Forest Green G17, Vermillion R08, Pink RV11, Violet V09, Lemon
Yellow Y13, and Yellow Green YG03).

Fine Print:
- By submitting your entry for consideration, you are agreeing to be
bound by the rules of this competition.
- By entering your work to this competition, you are consenting to have
your illustration used for Melbourne Anime Festival publicity purposes,
including Manifest 2007 postcard. You are also consenting to having your
name (or nickname, should you prefer) added to the Competition Winner
Hall of Fame.
- Manifest 2007 takes no responsibility for the entrant's illegal use of
copyrighted material.
- The winning artwork will be subject to Manifest 2007's use, and
Manifest will have exclusive rights to it until 30th of March 2008.
- Manifest holds exclusive rights to all entries for the duration of the
competition.
- The artist is permitted to display the winning image on their web site(s).
- All artwork submitted by entrants (whether the eventual winning entry
or not) may be used by Manifest 2007 for other promotional activities.
Manifest 2007 will seek the permission of the artist of the artwork
before using any part or whole of that artwork for these purposes. The
artwork will be subject to Manifest 2007's use, and will remain
exclusively Manifest's until the conclusion of the event.
- Manifest does not sell artwork without the artist's permission.
Manifest also does its best to ensure that any electronic copies of your
work are protected against theft.
- Members of the Manifest Orangisational Committee are eligible to
enter, but will not be permitted to in any way participate in judging,
or voting on the entries.
- Members of the Manifest Orangisational Committee are not eligible to
receive any prizes, but will receive recognition.
- Manifest reserves the right to declare this competition null and void
if the entries received are not of a reasonable standard.
- Prizes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
- These rules are subject to change. Should there be any changes, they
will be made known via the Manifest web site, and any existing entrants
will be notified.
- The judges' decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into
on this matter.
