  • One submission allowed per entrant. Stories co-authored will count as one entry for each author.
  • Entries must be based on an anime, manga, or Japanese video game.
  • Submissions must be received by midnight, 31 August, 2006. Australian Eastern Standard time.
  • Entries that have won awards in previous Manifest Fanfiction Competitions are ineligible to enter.
  • Submissions must be primarily in English.

Conditions

Judging

Entries will be scored according to the following criteria: characterisation, style and suitability, spelling, punctuation, grammar and readability. There is some leeway for the Judges to use their discretion. Judges will be asked to give a comment for each entry to provide feed back to the authors.

Submission

Entries must be submitted by one of the following methods:

  • Email (.txt, .rtf attachment)
  • Post (.txt, .rtf file on CD)

All submissions must include the following information:

- Title of entry
- Your name
- Name you would like published/announced
- The fandom(s) anime/manga/video game
- Your email address
- Your content rating
- Word count

Additional optional information can include:

  • A contact phone number.
  • If you would like to receive a break down of the Judges scoring for your entry.
  • If you are allowing Manifest to publish your entry on the Manifest website (Entries will not be published to the website without the permission of the author.)

  • If you would allow the Judges comments to be published with your entry.
  • Story context: While Judges are knowledgeable about several series, it is impossible to be familiar with all. A short orientation would be beneficial but must be indicative of the fandom's canon events.  (300 words maximum please and this will not count towards your total word count.)

In the event that you win a prize and are unable to claim your prize during Manifest, you will be contacted for postal details.

The Manifest 2006 Fanfiction Competition Co-ordinator will attempt to contact you if the CD cannot be read, if there is sufficient written detail to do this, however Manifest reserves the right not to accept the entry should no replacement CD be forthcoming.
