Cultural Events

Manifest not only strives to bring to you the anime and manga we all come to enjoy, we also provide cultural events originating from the country and ideas from which anime is born. To fully understand some of the references made in what we watch and read, it is often useful, if not insightful and entertaining, to learn about the Japanese cultural background. Below you will find just some of the cultural events we are organising. These are by no means all that we are going to showcase in Manifest, but we hope it will pique your interest nonetheless.

All weekend

  • Go board games
Saturday
  • Kendo demonstration - 12pm
  • Shamisen performance - 1pm
  • Calligraphy - 2:30pm
Sunday
  • Naginata demonstration - 12pm
  • Taiko performance - 1pm
  • Tea Ceremony - 2:30pm
  • Koto performance - 3:30pm

If you have an idea for a cultural event or just want to know more about Japanese cultural events that are going to be held in Manifest in general, contact us at events@manifest.org.au.
