This year MANIFEST is not having a competition for AMVs however we will showcase AMVs produced locally and internationally. The following are for those who wish to submit an AMV to be shown at the event this year.

Anime Music Video or AMV is basically a music video in that has been compiled by a fan of both music and anime into something new and interesting and in some cases even better that the proper music video. In AMV, pieces of anime footage are captured and placed to a piece of music, creating a unique work. The criteria for submission are:

  1. The AMV must be an anime-based music video, music videos based on other shows (includes live-action anime-styled shows) will not be shown. It is acceptable to put some live action footage into an AMV, just as long as it is not the majority of the piece.

  2. Each music video should have at the beginning or the ending of the piece a short series of credits listing:
    • The authors' name or alias
    • The songs' title and album
    • A list of the anime used (optional).

  3. AMVs submitted should be longer than 2 minutes shorter than 5 minutes in length in order to be screened between viewing sessions, and AMV longer than this may not be screened due to time constraints.

  4. No more than 2 AMVs can be submitted by a single person and no more that 2 AMVsfrom a group of people.

  5. All AMVs are to be submitted by the 2nd of August in time for MANIFEST to organise when they will be shown. If possible the AMV should be submitted to the MANIFEST committee on Video Tape PAL normal speed format.
